Take Action - Parents:

How Parents Can Help

Parents/Caregiver Objectives:

  • To emphasize that their children should graduate from high school and continue their education beyond high school.
  • To provide a call to action that children should not miss even ONE DAY of school.
  • To provide support to parents whose children are having trouble attending school or are considering dropping out.

Parents of MCPS Middle and High School Students:

Register to access your student’s grades, assignments, transcripts, attendance and other information via the District’s web-based Zangle ParentConnection. Each Zangle ParentConnection user is assigned a unique PIN number and password that enables viewing of student information. This is a great way to monitor your student’s classroom assignments and grades, and connect with teachers. Click here to learn more.

Take Action!

Make sure your kids get to school on time, send them off in a caring way, and ask them about their school day at the end of EVERY day.
Talk to your children about what they can do WHEN they graduate.
Read to your children and awaken them to the joy of learning.
Give your children help when they ask for it. Support and give encouragement in their education and extra-curricular activities.
Stay involved with your children and their schools, know their teachers, and support your children’s learning styles.
